Upon the independence of the Arab states, the West began to realize that it must continue to tighten their control over the Arab region by controlling the Arab minds. To this end, the West launched a campaign of intellectual invasion through the media, which is the most important means of controlling and directing ideas as well as controlling Arab minds and consciousness. The media alone was not enough so the West, especially the United States, was keen to prepare intellectuals whose mission was to invade the Arab mind by theorizing democracy, human rights and other ideas that led the Arab region into the present chaos.
These theorists disappeared after they had completed their mission. One cannot ignore the role of political Islam groups which have been financed by the West since their inception. These groups have plaid a role that is parallel to that plaid by paid intellectuals. Those who cannot be caught by the ideas advocated by paid intellectuals can be caught by the trap of religion. The result was a society with minds that can be reformulated in preparation to intellectual and cultural conquer and recolonization without the need for soldiers and guns.
