Purchasing a Cause?

Purchasing a Cause?

The Palestinian cause has been the cause of all the Arabs since the Israeli occupation of Palestine in 1948. But the cause has suffered because of defenders who have inflected heavy losses on this just cause and on the Palestinian people who have given all they can to support their cause, liberate their land and establish their state.
Before what is known as the “Arab Spring” that has created all the ongoing chaos in the Arab region, Palestine used to be the first priority of Arabs. The eruption of the “Arab Spring” has caused the regression of the Arab role that used to be supportive of the Palestinian cause as most of the Arab countries have been busy with their internal issues.
On the other hand, Palestinians themselves have been politically divided and this political division has led to geographic and social division that has in turn negatively affected the Palestinian cause. The political leadership in the West Bank maintains peaceful resistance, negotiations and security coordination. The only thing that they have achieved in return is some facilitations to PA leaders there. In Gaza, the leadership only believes in military action, leading the Gaza Strip into closure that has been ongoing for years. Those taking control over Gaza have been obliged by force of arms to inter into understandings that have transformed them to security guards of the state of the Israeli occupation. Eventually, the two parties to the Palestinian division have become a plaything in the hands of Doha.
